When it comes to a work project of any sizable amount, it’s important you set goals and targets which can be attained within a reasonable amount of time. Load up yourself up with too much work and you might fall short of the dead line. Conversely, leaving a small project until the last minute can mean it is rushed and not up to par.

Whether you’re a student or professional, planning your next project can not only be stressful but you might start to panic before the project has even started. So what do you do? Plan ahead of course.

Planning ahead may sound complicated but once you have the process down, you can start and complete new projects as quick as you can get them. The best way to start is to assess what type of work needs to be done and in what time frame it needs to be completed.

For the professional, the best place to start is by delegating parts of the project to people you feel are capable of completing them. Don’t try to force people into projects they aren’t not capable of doing otherwise you’ll come off worse for wear. Ask people what parts of the project they’re interested in and then match them accordingly.

Next, break the new project up multiple chunks that can be completed each day. For example, if the project is due within 10 working days, assign the work to be completed in 9 chunks; leaving 1 day to make any corrections and to double check your project before handing it in.

By following these simple rules, your next project will be a great one!
